Who We Are

Formed in 1984, the Delaware Biking Blue Hens is a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging and supporting bicycling for fun and friendship, with an emphasis on fun. We are open to everyone and our members are of all ages and skill levels. Although most of our members hail from Wilmington, we have members throughout the state of Delaware as well as in Pennsylvania, and as far away as Iowa, Colorado, Nebraska and even Canada!

We participate in most of the local rides and you’re likely to see the Blue Hens at rides in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Perhaps you’ve even seen our big blue bus, the Henhaus.

In addition to riding, we also host several charity rides as well as social events throughout the year. Be sure to check out the calendar for details, and also check out the section on RAGBRAI, a ride to which we travel annually and which has become our signature event.
